Orestod will be constructing a 26,000 square foot, three-story building adjacent to the current Marias building. The building will house the expanded operations of Marias Technology on the second and third floors, with the first floor featuring Boscoe’s Place, a full-service restaurant and bar, as well as Glacier View Coffee. We chose to keep Marias Technology in Covington, rather than to relocate. Marias will also remain in its current building and invest in improvements to it.
As part of the new construction, Orestod acquired the seven buildings to the west of the current Marias building, facing High Street. Six were demolished because inspections deemed them unsalvageable. The southernmost building, the Dime Store, was kept and is being renovated. Additional information on this can be found on the Dime Store tab of the Projects section of this website.
The architect on the project is Candace Goodall of Troy, with Garmann Miller & Associates and Shell + Meyer Associates assisting in the design work. Brackett Builders of Troy has been chosen to construct the building. Financing for the project is provided by Greenville Federal. Choice One Engineering has done all the surveying and will continue to advise on the project. We hope to break ground in the spring of 2020.
