Project Overview
Orestod recently constructed a 26,000 square foot, three-story building adjacent to the original Marias building. The building houses the expanded operations of Marias Technology on the second and third floors, with the first floor featuring Boscoe’s Place, a full-service restaurant and bar, as well as Glacier View Coffee. Orestod chose to keep Marias Technology in Covington, rather than to relocate. Marias remains in its original building and is investing in improvements to it.
As part of the new construction, Orestod acquired the seven buildings to the west of the current Marias building, facing High Street. Six were demolished because inspections deemed them unsalvageable. The southernmost building, the Dime Store, was kept and renovated. Additional information on this can be found on the Dime Store tab of the Projects section of this website.
The architect on the project was Candace Goodall of Troy, with Garmann Miller & Associates and Shell + Meyer Associates assisting in the design work. Brackett Builders of Troy constructed the building. Financing for the project was provided by Greenville Federal. Construction began May 2020 and completed in August 2021.
